The following are some pictures from Sanxiang City, China. Let me tell you about China, first there are no FDA laws, no traffic laws, no sanitation laws, and no child safety laws. The food is very good but it is best not to question what some things are. My first meal was a huge meal for one person and I had to take it back to my apartment to eat. The little restaurants here gives you bowls of food with a small plate and small bowl to eat from, but everyone usually eat straight from the bowls of plates and share it by eating from the same platter with chopsticks. It is healthy but the Chinese use everything from the animals they cook, nothing goes to waste. They give you whole fish and whole chicken including the head, but they sort of decorate it or just leave it hanging limply. It is an experience. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
You have to cross the street at your own peril. It is literally a life and death situation.
The covered motorbikes are called tricycles by the Chinese and Rickashaws or Tik Tik that my friend from Sweden likes to call them. It is illegal in China, but they are great modes of transportation and I think they pay a bribe or lets call it a "fine" to the police to keep operating. Sometimes they drive really fast which is why I like to get a woman driver.
This is my apartment that I can see from my school.
Chicken and pork heart soup to make women beautiful and men strong. Like I said, every part of the animal, but we also put tofu, lettuce, and turnips in it so it was not so bad. The broth was delicious.
This was my meal by myself. It only cost me 30 yuan. Which is $4.93 US dollars. Tofu, Greens, seaweed soup, and rice.

CHINA!
Hello Everyone! It has been so long since I have blogged on here, more specifically since 2009. I am currently in China teaching overseas at Sanxian Bilingual Middle School in Guangdong Province. It is in southern China and the city where I am, Sanxiang City, is considered a village compared to other cities but it is a modest sized city itself. The air is polluted of course and everything is old and dirty. However they have very beautiful parks here. Where I am, everything is cheap and I can live on 3000 yuan a month here which is 429.59 US dollars. Of course my rent is free, electric is free, cable is free (all in Chinese), and I eat free at the school canteen.
I first arrived in China in Beijing. Of course I had serious Jet Lag and did not explore much and I was only there for two days. My handler, Linda (her English name) greeted me at the gate and said Ni Hao! All I could do was mumble and smile and try not to fall out from sleeping. Here is my first look of Beijing:
It was raining and the hair was heavy with dirt and smog but strangely I didn't feel very excited. I guess because I spent 18 hours next to this guy who had not taken a shower in days and was trying to teach me Chinese most of the time. After Linda picked me up and took me to a "hotel" room, I asked here where the bathroom was because I didn't see one in my room. This is what she showed me:
I was like, "No Way! That is not happening!" I almost told her I was leaving. I asked her how was I supposed to use that. "Squat, like this see?" was the answer. At that point I was headed to the door, ready to call my mom to send money to me to come home. Did I say I was already aggravated? Linda must have seen the way I was edging towards the door because she said, "Don't worry! You will have a western style toilet at your apartment at the school." I was silently thanking Jesus for that and asking him to help me bear this for 2 more days. I bore it and in two day I was on my way to Sanxian on a bullet train that took me 8 hours to get there. Chinese people her are always in a hurry and they are very pushy especially when getting on and off transportation. Many times times I thought I would die.
I hope you like my beginning journey of China. I will update every few days of things that have happened since then and show you pictures of my school.
Love you all.

Hello Everyone,
It has been months since I posted, but Facebook just lets me tell all details in one minute. I have become reliant on Facebook and for its Burger King approach of Your Way Every Day (I think that is their approach, it sounds like it anyway). We just had a fun Fall festival, though this one family was taking picture of their whole family like we were Olen Mills or something. it wasn't just the whole family but individal pictures, pictures with another person, with the baby, with the Husband... Poor Bro. Biscotto, he was very nice about the whole thing.
I brought the two kids that I babysitt and whom I adore to the Fall Festival. I have babysatt turner since she was about 9 months and she is 7 now and Smith since he was born and he is now 2. I am Miss Robin and "Ra Ra". Pictures will be up soon.
Though life has not gone exactly like I Planned this year, I know God can see me at any time.

Hello Everyone,
I am writing because I am seriously bored at work. It is a perfectly raining day and I am stuck at work looking at the rain instead of sleeping and enjoying it. Today is one of those days you turn out all the light and just snuggle in your blanket and sleep off and on all day. Well at least I can dream.
Saturday I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival at Botanical Gardens. It was the perfect day and weather. Cool breezes were whistling through the trees and whirling the cherry blossoms in a delightful dance. Mickey (I am butchering her name) and Rachel were working at the origami table and taught Tiffany and I how to do Ninja stars and Samurai hats.It was fun, fun, fun. The best moment of the day was when this little boy was bothering this goose, and the goose ran up to him and bit his leg. JUSTICE! I thought it was hilarious.
I am going to post some photos later tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully. I have photos of the goose, but unfortunately not the biting incident.

Why Me?
Seriously Why ME? Because I am the only one that is stupid enough to tell my mom yes so easily. I am always stuck babysitting for my mom while she runs off somewhere. Not that I don't mind helping her but it gets old after an hour and the kids start fighting and talking back to me. Uggg!! I got through it though, but the best way to punish kids is to make them clean their room. They hate it. Anyway I am home now and I am tired. I must admit Carlos the one year old is pretty cute. He is a stand in for my nephew whom I miss.
My dog has been acting weird and I fear he is going senile with his old Age. My cat is just going with the flow and staying outside more. He loves it out there in the cold. Not that anyone cares! But I feel our animals are like family and I tell my family they better not yell at the animals for anything. And of course we get into it from there. Just a typical day at the Brantley's house. But seriously our family loves animals and have had our dog for over 10 years. Our other dog Belle died from old age (at the vet) MAY SHE REST IN PEACE. She was a sweet, wonderful dog.
Well have a nice night everyone and hug family and animals!!!

Fun Times?
Well here I am for the second time blogging. I would love to blog more but it takes so much energy and I get tired just thinking about it. In two months I receive my paralegal certificate from Samford, but strangely, I have been slacking off in school, i.e. not studying, and finding staring at the wall more entertaining than listening in class. Good Times, Good Times!! But anyway, i digress.
This past Saturday I took Ephraim, Mario, Andrew, Stephan, and my cousin , Jyre, to Atlanta and Augusta, Ga for shopping and fun. they are the craziest people when put together and they obviously think I am one of the guys because they can go way out there sometimes. But we had alot of fun and hopefully we can do that again sometime. I do have pictures and will post them soon. Underground and Above ground Atlanta was fun and there were some characters there, and the shops had cool clothes. Of course they would, its Atlanta.
I am trying to get everything out now because it may be days before I come back. Hopefully I will. Tiffany made awesome Taco Soup the other night, it was very delicious. I hate school, i never want to see another class room or book in my life if I am on the receiving end. I have missed the last two church services and I will not miss anymore hopefully. I am beginning to really not like my job, but thank God I have one. I am finding myself more content with life, Hallelujah ( Did I spell that right?) I am worried my cat may not make it when I leave the country, knowing my family. I love my nephew and do not see him often. And I will stop right there because this is too much.
Good Night everyone!

New to Blogging
Tiffany has been after me to Blog and so here I am. She helped me put up the cool wallpaper and told me how to set up the page. What a good Best Friend. I hope everyone will follow my blog whenever I put one up. I am home sick today so I am just lying in bed with nothing to do. I should be studying, but I am going to? The answer is NO! But maybe I will. I am now going to bother my sister with a phone call with nothing to say, which she hates. She will eventually tell me bye and hang up on me, and then I will call my mom and do the same thing. Oh well, don't feel sorry for me, it is a way of life. Bye for today!
